At the tunnels and hallways of the school, you hear students complaining of how rigid and hell-ish the training is. In the College of Nursing, Clinical Instructors are viewed as evil, sadistic, and downright crazy. Okay, not really "evil". That was a bit of an exaggeration, but you get the picture. (No dissing or any kind of offense intended coz hey, I was once a clinical instructor myself. Just saying, I've been there. I've done that. I was an alumnus too, you know.)
A mountain of homework and papers to write, a gazillion skills to improve on, barely getting any sleep, waking up at the wee hours of the morning for duty, stretching your brain capacity to its maximum just to pass...trying to juggle it all was NEVER easy. But, as they say, everything comes with a price. And it's the worthiest of all that's the priciest.
So, who cares if we suffered a whole lot for 4 years? Who cares if you lost more than a couple of hours of sleep? Who cares if you show up at the hospital looking all haggard and roughed up?
All of these are experiences that are too valuable to discard. All of these shaped the way we think, move and react in real-time. In the end, we get the greatest reward. Confidence. Confidence in knowing that we KNOW what to do, that we CAN do it, and that we DO it.
In spite of all the odds, we made it. And we will continue to make it. Because that's what we are. That's what CNU graduates are.
CONGRATULATIONS TO CNU-CN BATCH 2012.
